If you really want to know me, America’s Next Top Model was my show back in the day. I watched it on repeat — over and over. I lived for the photos, the fashion, the drama… all of it. I even got Tyra Banks’ mascara, Smack My Big Fast Lash, as a Christmas gift one year. I was fully invested!

But in recent years, the show has gotten a lot of attention on social media — and not the good kind. More and more people have been calling out Tyra and the show’s toxic moments. Viewers have claimed the competition felt rigged at times, and some said “plus-size” models were included more for the appearance of diversity than genuine representation. Once I started seeing those videos, it became hard not to notice those issues. Honestly? Total disappointment.

Now, Tyra and members of the ANTM team are speaking out and pulling back the curtain on what really happened behind the scenes. They admit that some things may have gone too far. It does make you wonder though — is this coming out now because of all the social media backlash?

The new documentary, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, starts streaming on Netflix on February 16. The trailer features Tyra Banks, Jay Alexander, Nigel Barker, and Jay Manuel, along with former models Whitney Thompson, Dani Evans, and Giselle Samson. Tyra even admits she may have taken things too far — but will that be enough for fans?

Check out the trailer and decide for yourself.
