December is full of consuming, whether that was shopping, eating or drinking! Many people look forward to January for one thing… Dry January. They just want to take a break from drinking or anything they have been consuming too much of. Holly Humphreys licensed professional counselor and therapist says ‘it’s just a really good way to reset ourselves.’
Humphreys also gives some advice on how to achieve Dry January – ‘to start off a dry January and to make sure you don’t give up, focus on realistic goals. When you take the first step on your cleansing journey, be patient.’
If you’re a really big social drinker, maybe change up that social aspect a little bit so that you’re not putting yourself in the situation to drink. Don’t meet at a bar, try someone’s house to get the social interaction.
