Last night owners of Kreger’s Bakery in Wausau made their debut on Fox’s Crime Scene Kitchen. The competition cooking show has taken on a new twist this season. They have self-taught bakers going against each other right now, then the classically trained ones going against each other. In time they will then mix the two groups. The team that can make it to the end will win $100,000.
We saw Kathleen Regelman and Hannah Reyes the owners of Kreger’s Bakery and Cup & Cake in Wausau. The two were very close last night with guessing the first dessert was a Lemon Chiffon pie, but it turned out to be an Atlantic Beach Pie.
In the elimination round they were also close again with thinking the dessert was a Blood Orange Upside Down Cake. While they were about 90% right, this biggest issue was the cake was still raw in the middle.
I have watched many cooking competition shows and I have seen people get sent home because things are either undercooked or raw. However, lucky for them there was one team that completely blew it. They ended up putting buttercream on the upside down cake.
Next week we will see the trained bakers go head-to-head. You can catch Fox’s Crime Scene Kitchen Mondays at 8pm
