We have all seen or heard the news the last week and so have your kids, how do you talk to them about what’s going on in Ukraine. One pediatrician, Dr. Meg Meeker, says best thing to do is ‘keep kids calm.’

Here is some more advice she has:

Consider the age of your child – if they are under 7 or 8, don’t say anything unless they ask. If they do ask, keep is simple.

Keep dialogue simple – no matter what the age is, tell them who is fighting whom and why.

Keep news on the tv for a short time – if your kids see it to much they may start to magnified what’s going on in their mind.

Avoid political and divisive discussion.

Keep kids calm – reassure them everything will be ok for them and their families.
