Brand new Wet Nose Wednesday with the Collar Club in Wisconsin Rapids, meet Squeakers. She a black and white Tuxedo female, approximately 2-3 years-old.
Squeakers came to us earlier this spring with a bunch of kittens. She was close to death—her arm shredded and hardly able to walk. Here’s her story-she was an outside cat that some very nice people were feeding. They knew she had recently had babies and also knew where her nest was. One day they noticed her barely walking –her arm was shredded & bloody. She was not eating and super sick. She literally made it back to her nest to feed her babies. She never left them down. The nice people called a Humane Officer and the H.O. gathered her and all the babies back to HSPC. We all thought the mother (Squeakers) was not going to “make it” as she was in such bad shape. She got really upset when we had to take the babies away-still protecting them. Our fabulous medical staff worked diligently to provide the care she needed, from arm amputation to syringe feedings to medicine and hours of care. And today proves it—she made it! Plus all her unweaned babies survived thanks to a great foster mom too. Day by day Squeakers has regained her strength and her confidence and is now a thriving champion ready to complete her long journey in a forever home.
All of her babies have grown and were adopted—now it’s her turn!
Squeakers is as shy but sweet as can be. She is spayed, immunized and litter trained. She is not feral—just shy.
Because of her one arm she is not an outside can and is considered special needs.
Come and meet this brave girl! She should be mother of the year.
Her adoption fee is $55. If you are interested in adopting a cat from HSPC, please complete our adoption application.
