The American Institute of Stress wants you to take a few minutes each day to distress or relax. Here are different ways to trick your brain into a little mini vacation.
- Meditate – daily meditation may alter the brain’s neural pathways, making you more resilient to stress.
- Listen to music – a minimum of 20 minutes of music listening can lower stress levels
- Stretch – focus on the muscles that are tight to relieve body tension.
- Sniff an orange – the citrusy scent helps reduce stress
- Find some alone time – spending 5 minutes with yourself can help reduce stress
