Pet of the Week – Polar

By Kori Apr 3, 2025 | 6:43 AM

Meet our new Pet of the Week with The Collar Club in Wisconsin Rapids, Polar. He is a 1-year-old pup, weighing 58 pounds, neutered and up-to-date on all his immunizations. Polar has short hair that is beautiful white coat. He looks like a white German Shepard, the Humane Society of Portage County thinks he has a bit of Shepherd in him and/or a Husky mix.

Polar enjoys walks and know how to walk very well with a lease. He love to play in his water bowl, he is dreaming of a beach and summer. He enjoys car rides so it will be easy to get him wherever you want to take him. Polar already knows sit and paw! He enjoys playing with dogs but is a ‘heavy player,’ so dogs his size would be his best playmates. He is also fine with cats.

Polar can be shy with new people and will take some time for him to trust someone. He will need some house training as he is not completely potty trained. An adult home is highly recommended, he would overpower small children.

He is neutered, micro-chipped, current on vaccines and heartworm negative.

Polar adoption fee is $150 plus tax. If you are interested in meeting him you can fill out a dog application here. All dog adoptions come with a leash, collar, toys and three days’ worth of food. If the adopter is a resident of Portage County, a dog license will be issued at the time of the adoption.
