Pet of the Week – Nickel

By Kori Mar 12, 2025 | 6:29 AM

Brand new week, back with a new Pet of the Week with The Collar Club in Wisconsin Rapids, meet Nickel! She is a black and white 7-year-old, spayed female. She came to the shelter very scared and shy girl, she was in a situation with over 31 other cats in the same home. Her and all of her companions are very good with other cats, but can be shyer around new people. However, Nickel has grown a lot in her time at the Humane Society of Portage County and now loves to get attention from anyone and everyone. She is a purring machine.

Nickel will need to go home with one of her cat friends or with another kitty in the home; these cats thrive off each other and would do best in a home with other pets.

Nickel is housetrained, spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $55 plus tax. If you are interested in adopting Nickel, you can fill out an application here!

Coming up Tuesday, March 25th is the 3rd Annual Pours for Paws – A Fundraiser to Benefit the Humane Society of Portage County. KPR and Guu’s on Main are teaming up to host a night of fun and charity. Prizes will be raffled off and all donations and tips will be donated to the Humane Society of Portage County.
