Over 1,000 theaters worldwide will host Wicked sing-along screenings starting Christmas Day, featuring karaoke-style lyrics and a special video introduction by stars Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (Glinda). Since its November 22 release, the film has broken box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Broadway musical adaptation in film history. Standard screenings will continue for those who prefer to enjoy the professionals’ performances. Universal’s Jim Orr praised the audience’s enthusiastic response, calling the sing-along events a unique way to engage fans. Wicked has also garnered multiple Golden Globe nominations, including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Musical or Comedy.
