The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that the theme for this year’s Met Gala fundraiser on May 4 will be Fashion is Art. Co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, the event will support the Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition, Costume Art, and inaugurate new galleries at The Met. Jeff and Lauren Sanchez Bezos are sponsoring the benefit and exhibition, serving as honorary chairs for the Met Gala. The exhibition will focus on the connection between the dressed body and fashion as an embodied art form, emphasizing the materiality and transformative possibilities of fashion.
