It’s been more than 20 years since Mountain Dew and Taco Bell shook the fast-food world with their iconic Baja Blast — a tropical lime soda that became an instant cult favorite. Over the years, fans have enjoyed countless Baja-inspired creations, from the frosty Baja Blast Freeze to the short-lived (and instantly sold-out) Baja Blast Gelato, and even the upcoming Baja Blast Pie set to hit menus later this year.
But this summer, Taco Bell is celebrating Baja Blast’s 21st birthday with something truly unprecedented: a brand-new Baja flavor that’s here to stay.
Introducing Baja Midnight
For the first time since the original Baja Blast debuted in 2004, Taco Bell and Mountain Dew are expanding the Baja lineup with an all-new, Taco Bell–exclusive flavor. First announced at Live Más Live 2025, Baja Midnight reimagines the classic tropical lime taste with a sweet, tangy twist of passion fruit. And with its deep purple hue, it’s as bold to look at as it is to sip.
The big debut happens August 14, when Baja Midnight hits Taco Bell menus nationwide. Fans can enjoy it ice-cold from the fountain or try the limited-time Baja Midnight Freeze for a frozen take on the flavor. Best of all? Baja Midnight isn’t going anywhere — it’s officially joining the permanent drinks menu alongside the original Baja Blast.
After two decades of “doing the Dew,” Taco Bell just proved they can still surprise us — and our taste buds.
