Lorde has released her new single and video, “What Was That,” after days of teasers. The song was produced in collaboration with Jim-E Stack and Dan Nigro. The video features Lorde walking and biking around New York City, with footage from a canceled pop-up performance in Washington Square Park. This release marks Lorde’s first major release in almost four years, following her collaboration with Charli XCX. Despite a canceled performance, Lorde eventually arrived at the park to thank fans and play the song.
