Beyoncé’s foundation, BeyGOOD, has donated $2.5 million to support the Los Angeles wildfire relief effort, specifically focusing on the Eaton Fire impact in Altadena/Pasadena. The fund aims to help families who lost their homes and support churches and community centers in the area. Beyoncé’s decision to target the Eaton Fire destruction may be due to its impact on a historically Black neighborhood, where several Black-owned businesses were affected, as opposed to the affluent community of Pacific Palisades. The singer’s mother, Tina Knowles, also lost her home in Malibu to the wildfires.
