Meet our new Pet of the Week for Wet Nose Wednesday with The Collar Club in Wisconsin Rapids – Tuxie. Tuxie is a black and white mixed male feline. He is approximately one-year-old, neutered and current on all of his immunizations.
Tuxie is a fan favorite at the Humane Society of Portage County, you can often find him snuggling his days away with all of the volunteers and staff. He has not been in the shelter long, but it may take longer to get him adopted because he is completely blind.
The number one question people ask about a blind cat, is how will he know where everything is? Blind cats are very resourceful and don’t take long at all to memorize a home’s layout. They rely on memory, smells, sounds and feeling to make their way around. Blind cats have heightened senses than other cats, as it’s the only ones they can use. Tuxie finds his way around his area quite well.
He would benefit in a new home that can be patience with him. He seems to like the other cats at the Humane Society of Portage County. He would bring joy to any home. As a note, Tuxie would do best in a home where the couch will stay in the same place.
He is housetrained, neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $55 plus tax, if you are interested in adopted him, click here to fill out an application.
