Pet Of The Week – Leche

By Kori Jun 12, 2024 | 6:01 AM

We are back with another Wet Nose Wednesday with the Humane Society of Portage County. Meet Leche (lay-chee), he is looking for his forever home. Leche is a black & white male dog, about 1.5 years-old, 35 lbs, Border collie/Labrador mix. He is up-to-date on his immunizations and he is neutered.

Leche came to the shelter as a stray. One thing that he loves is hugs! If you’re a hugger this is your dog, he loves to jump up and give hugs to people. If you give him a good squeaky toy and take him on walks, you will forever be his favorite person. Leche is house trained, seems to like other dogs and does fine with the other shelter cats.

Leche is looking for an adult home, older teens might be ok; as he is not ‘sure’ about children. If you are interesting in adopting Leche, submit an application here! His adoption fee is $150 +tax. Only the approved adopter will be notified.

Coming up Sunday, June 23rd is the Walk for Wags to benefit the Humane Society of Portage County. Join them on a leisurely 1.5 mile walk along the Wisconsin River, and bring your pup along. The day will include activities for animal lover, music, demonstrations, vendors, and basket raffles. Register for the walk here!
