Post Malone closed down the Louvre’s Cour Carrée for a Visa-sponsored gig last weekend.
The private event was called “Visa Live at le Louvre” and kicked off the credit card and financial brand’s Paris activations before the Olympics. Malone performed an hour-long set of his biggest hits to 4,000 Visa lottery winners and thousands more, streaming the event on Roblox as the sun sank on a cloudy Paris night.
Malone excited the crowd early with songs like “Psycho,” “Rockstar,” “Circles,” and “I Like You” (without Doja Cat) backed by a live band and cello and violinist. For his 2018 hit “Stay,” the artist played an acoustic guitar, then the emotionally moving “I Fall Apart” that brought him to his knees.
“Can you believe they let me sing here?” Malone asked, amidst the Renaissance façade of the Louvre as a movie-worthy backdrop. “I’m just lucky they let me into France,” he joked.
