Not every day is going to be a good day, but what should you do when you are in a bad mood or a bad mental health day. What a bad day looks like is different for everyone, you could be feeling scattered or stressed, maybe you’re feeling low energy or tired. So, what should you do if you are have a rough day, therapists weigh-in on what they do.
- Make sure their physical needs are met – it could be list of things: did you drink enough water? Did you take your medication, or gotten enough sleep? If you are not fueling your body with what it needs, you won’t be doing any favors for your metal needs.
- Reschedule the things that don’t need to be done today – you don’t want to add additional pressure to your already bad day. Errand or cleaning can all wait until the next day.
- Avoid making big decisions – if you are not in the right headspace you could end up making decision you don’t really agree with.
- Get outside – being in nature can boost happiness and reduce stress
- Prioritize movement – you will feel less stressed and can help you emotional.
