Here are things you should know before you kid starts college.
- Parenting for a distance can be hard – helping your kid navigate college is tough when you aren’t there to pick up the pieces, but you have to let them do it.
- Your texts will probably go unanswered – with extra activities, studying, new friends, you unfortunately will be the last on their list to get back too.

- This is your kid’s college experience, not yours – they will go through many emotions, good and bad, you have to let them do it.
- Online parenting groups will be your lifeline – you will have to spend your time doing something besides worrying about your kid, find some people that are going through similar situations, they will help!
