Underrated Vacation Spots

Going on vacation is one of the best things to do in the summer but everyone goes to Disney, Vegas or even The Grand Canyon. There are many more places in the US that you should visit. Here is a list from cities to parks to even entire states that are underrated and a must visit!

  1. Buffalo, New York – you can visit their Art Deco City Hall, Greek Revival Buffalo History Museum, botanical gardens and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House. Plus, Niagara Falls is just a short drive away.
  2. West Virginia – If you are an outdoor enthusiasts, this entire state is for you. You can visit the newest national park, New River Gorge it has whitewater sports, hiking, mountain biking and Bridge Day BASE jumping.
  3. Florida’s Forgotten Coast – tucked in the St. Joseph Peninsula and St. George Island offers an uncrowded alternative to Florida’s more popular destinations. If you visit in October, you can join in on St. Mark’s Stone Crab Festival or in November, they have Florida Seafood Festival in Apalachicola.
  4. Kansas City, Missouri – Jazz, Blues and tunes to make you get up and move are the sounds of the city. And BBQ, enjoy the flavors of savory and slow-smoked KC barbecue. Don’t miss out on the history as well, at Country Club Plaza or at the National World War I Museum & Memorial.
  5. White Sands National Park, New Mexico – it’s Syfi meets real world. You get to explore the world’s largest gypsum dune field. You can hike or sled down the bright-white dunes.
  6. San Luis Obispo, California – it’s a world class wine region. Visit for the craft breweries, reasonably priced restaurants and one-off boutiques with some historic Spanish flare. Enjoy hiking or bike along the seaside.
