Every part of the USA has food that is a must try when you visit, whether you’re going to Chicago, you must get a deep dish pizza, or if you are going to Maine, lobster is the go too or if you visit New Orleans, you have to find a crawfish boil. But what about sandwiches that are staples like the PB&J. Each region in the country has their ‘speciality’ sandwich. Here are 11 different sandwiches that are a must try!

Philly Cheesesteak –

  • Main ingredients: Sliced Steak, cheese and bread
  • Region/State: Philadelphia

Muffuletta –

  • Main ingredients: Sicilian round loaf topped with sesame seeds, Italian meats and cheese
  • Region/State: Sicily; New Orleans

Cubano –

  • Main Ingredients: Cuban Bread, ham, swiss cheese, pickled cucumber and mustard
  • Region/State: Florida

French Dip –

  • Main Ingredients: Baguette, Roast Beer and Au jus
  • Region/State: LA, California

Po’ Boy –

  • Main Ingredients: French Bread, roast beef, chicken fingers or some sort of seafood and slathered with sauce or mayo
  • Region/State: Deep South

Fried Bologna Sandwich –

  • Main Ingredients: Sliced white bread, bologna sausage and condiments
  • Region/State: Northeastern

Lobster Rolls –

  • Main Ingredients: New England-style hot dog bun, lobster meat, mayo/drawn butter and sometimes scallions
  • Region/State: New England

Pimento Cheese Sandwich –

  • Main Ingredients: A mix of cheddar, red bell pepper and mayo between bread
  • Region/State: Started in the North, but calls the South home (Georgia)

Italian Beef –

    • Main Ingredients: Roast Beef and Italian-style roll

Hot Brown –

Country Ham Biscuit –

    • Main Ingredients: Sliced ham and a biscuit
