Its fair to say, we all need a time-out every once in a while… but how do you know when you really need a time-out? Here are some time signs mom needs one.

  1. Raising Your Voice – If you are struggling to keep calm and yelling at your kids it’s time for a little break.
  2. Lack of Patience – Patience is a sign of being overwhelmed, take a break hiding in the bathroom or your bedroom for a few before getting back to things.
  3. Everything Annoys You – This is a good time to re-center yourself.
  4. Unkind Words – Even when your kid can’t talk, they can still pick up on tones and emotions. Watch what you say around them.
  5. You’re Forgetful – If you are not acting like yourself and keep forgetting things, its a sign you need a small break.
  6. Increased Heart Rate – Your heart rate can increase due to strong emotions, including anger or frustration.
  7. Body Aches – Are you always tense? You need sometime to relax.
  8. You’re Getting Rough – If you see that you’re getting rough with things, it’s a sign you need to calm down.
  9. Thoughts of Self-Harm – Call someone in the moment if you don’t feel safe. Otherwise, talked with a loved one or medical professional.   10. You Don’t Care – If you are feeling unmotivated or numb, don’t hesitate to take a few minutes to yourself.
